We're Done

It took us a total of 3 weeks to develop the dating section of the DiscoverOurMusic site, and four days to fix the bugs and upload the whole thing on the server. I think we need some rest now.

You've probably noticed the Dating section on our site - that's what we've been working on for so long. We know that this dating section will attract more visitors on the site, and this will finally translate into your music being listened more often. Of course, the site wouldn't work without advertising - and that's why we're counting on you, dear artist friends, to promote the site.

We also decided to allow webmasters to link to a music player streaming specific songs from the music site. We hope this will help promote your music even more.

Finally, one last piece of news: Kristine is now programming too! I now have someone to do the dirty work *evil laugh*.

The Real First Post

Hello there,

I'm Rowan, co-owner of the DiscoverOurMusic portal. I'm the guy behind the thousands of lines of code behind the music portal - the guy you blame when something isn't working right and the guy you never think about when it's all going smoothly. In short, I'm the programmer.

I work alongside Kristine - my business partner and buddy. She's the one who had the original DiscoverOurMusic idea. She's responsible for the marketing and part of the customer relationship of the site. We both agreed that I'd write on this blog mainly because of my ability to write nonesense while keeping people awake.

Just to make things clear - this isn't a blog to brag about our site (okay, just a little bit, but I'll do my best not to make it obvious) but rather a place where our users can gather information about what's going on in this site and what we're planning for them. Our artists aren't exactly our customers - they're part of a growing community which we're trying to consolidate while trying to attract as many listeners as possible.

We really worked hard on that site, and we're still working on it. We're planning to extend the services of the site and make of it... well no, it's a surprise ;) I predict that the DiscoverOurMusic site extension will increase artist's listening rate by 1000 to 4000 percent in the first three months.

We're probably going to have a release in the next months to come, and another release where the site will load much faster (yes, we know about the slow-loading issues) and be more efficient.
